Pressed white grapes, with a woody note. But also mirabelle plums, bananas, grapefruit, and lemon. Leather and smoky bark, lichen, very slight acidity, redcurrant jam, dates and dried figs; the influence of Sherry is discreet. Molasses and tobacco leaf. On the palate, the influence of the wood is more present, green tea, slight bitterness, spices, slightly underripe greengage plums, dark chocolate. Long but not very powerful finish, rough wood, charcoal nuances, heather, warm chestnuts, slightly dry but fertile earth, tobacco crumbs, white cabbage. This speyside is a great bottle to any occasion, 1st fill PX sherry butt, with all the great stuff from Speyside and PX in 1 bottle. No compromises from the characteristic Speyside style and the sweet lift of the PX, brings a complex dram that sometimes can be hard to find in this pricerange at that age.
