Нос	85	At first nosing it feels almost compacted, it's a lot there but it is as if it's struggling or competing to reach you. I will have to see what happens with a bit of water. 70ppm does not come across as "in your face" peated as I get lots of it as pure smoke as much as peat. Dry sherry fruitiness, dry clean wood. Water made it more peat dominant. Have to say I liked it better neat.
Вкус	87	Velvety texture. If the nose felt like it cried for water the taste is really spot on without it. Modest but solid peppery spice arriving in a very controlled manner. More dark chocolate and leather than fruits. Very subtle sweetness. Here as well water tilt it in the peaty direction, kicks it almost off balance and takes the excitement out of it.
Финиш	86	Neat it is long on pleasantly drying spices and a lingering sweetness. This keeps the peat at bay and barely noticeable. Water shortens it, dulls it down and leaves you with mostly washed out peat.

I was quite impressed by this one’s previous twins and siblings. Finally, some successful experiments from Billy Walker. In some circles, Turbo is considered the new Octomore, but I don't know — we shouldn't get carried away. It has its merits, though. Octomore, however, is a different story. What story does this one tell us?

Нос	90	It's walking in the forest at night. Why? It's a blind tasting; I can smell truffles and other brown mushrooms. It's like burying your nose in the forest floor. There is a dinner going on; meat is being served, heavily fried with lots of umami. I can smell all kinds of sauces, such as balsamic, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce and Japanese fish sauce. Now I can smell pears, but they are heavily fermented, along with all kinds of other fruits in the middle of a fermentation process.

Batch: L15 07 25 It reminds me a lot of exactly one whisky: Glasgow Peated, these two share a common profile, coffee + citrus, which I don't appreciate too much. But this Turbo is much more complex, so it is pretty nice. Notes: Roasted pork sausage, smoked paprika, eucalyptus essential oil, weed joint, soy sauce, rosemary, astringent virgin oak, lemon soda, candied lemon, acidic grapefruit, smoked salmon, earthy and muddy petricor, charred oak, black coffee, roasted fatty bacon, coal ash, strawberry jam, pine sap, raw cinnamon, black pepper, pure cocoa, date paste, Charred, citrus, astringent, woody, sappy, herbal, fatty, earthy, peated, sweet, spicy, absolute unit omni-bomb. But I would be lying if I said I don't find it very charming. After all the hype, I finally got my hands on this. What a disappointment. Good heathery smoky nose but palate is a touch thin, a bit woody albeit with a bit of sweetness somewhere there. It entertains the tongue for a few seconds before disappearing. Finish is so short as to be non-existent. I won't bother with future releases of this one.

Нос	87	"Unmistakable Laphroaig character"... yeah, right. Medicinal, herbal notes combined with a lot of sherry. Cherry cough syrup and a touch of eucalyptus.
Вкус	86	The flavor continues in exactly the same way. Wood is present, but somehow it's lacking a certain punch... overall, it's now too barrel-driven.
Финиш	85	Towards the end, it becomes almost watery. It loses significant intensity with a rather short finish.

This isn't everyone's cup of tea. You either love it or hate it. This whisky has an unusual flavor. You don't taste its age. The whisky is complex and oily, just like the flavor. A medium to long finish.

Tasted from a Glencairn glass. Tasted neat, without water! I definitely prefer this Meikle Tòir Turbo to its predecessor. Everything is more harmonious and fruitier.

Die GIERIGEN deutschen Händler - ja, das Fest hat wieder einmal begonnen. Endlich gibt es wieder eine Abfüllung, die begehrt ist und nicht aufgrund überhöhter Prise für schlechte Qualität in den Regalen stehen bleibt. ...bis der findige deutsche Händler kommt und sich denkt: "Mensch, den Preis kann ich doch einfach selbst in bekloppte Höhen treiben und den Reibach machen!" Warum sollte das nur mit Springbank funktionieren? Wer bietet mehr: 79€, 89,90€, 94€, 99€, 104,90€, 109,90€, 119,90€? Der Meikle Tòir 5 Jahre The Turbo 2025 war teils für knapp 57€ zu haben, 65 und 69€ mag ich mir noch gefallen lassen, aber der Rest! Die Zeiten mögen schlechter geworden sein für den Whiskymarkt, aber liebe Händler, macht sie doch nicht noch schlechter für euch und eure Reputation. Der Whiskyliebhaber merkt sich durchaus die entsprechenden Shops und das Netz vergisst nicht. Von mir folgen die Verkostungseindrücke, sobald der Malt angekommen ist, ohne Mondpreis. Der Malt ist inzwischen gelandet und auf geht's zur Erstverkostung!

Нос	88	Der Mal kommt sehr erdig-rauchig und mit einer schönen Mentholnote daher. Zunächst ist er etwas verschlossen und benötigt ein wenig Zeit, um sich zu öffnen; auch habe ich ihn in der Hand angewärmt. Dunkler Honig mit schmutzig-erdig-aschigem Rauch gesellt sich zu einem frisch angeschnittenem und harzigen Nadelbaum - geil.
Вкус	88	Der Antritt ist sehr intensiv und belegend mit viel Rauch, dieser ist auch am Gaumen erdig-schmutzig. Der Whisky ist sehr aromenintensiv und der Alkohol gibt kraft, schiebt an, jedoch nicht in unangenehmer Weise. Die Erdigkeit und der Rauch sind wunderbar mit dem Sherryeinfluss verbunden und der Malt wirklt fast schon dickflüssig - auch hier mit Honig; zudem 75-prozentige Schokolade, Datteln, Feigen, wunderbare Tannine (Eiche) und ein Hauch Kohle. Mit der Zeit wird der Malt zunehmend fleischig und eine Assoziation mit Sojasauce kommt auf.
Финиш	89	Der Meikle Toir belegt den gesamten Mundraum und bleibt für eine lange Zeit intensiv, wobei die Raucheindrücke schneller abnehmen und Espresso verbleibt. Beim Öffnen des Mundes und mit einströmender Luft flammt die Asche am Gaumen auf. Leicht klebrig mit getrockneten Feigen und dunklem Waldhonig, Nadelholz.

In the nosing, I still like the malt with its light caramel note, the nuttiness and the Christmas spices. However, it feels too watery in the mouth and remains too pale. The finish is mainly characterized by strong spice notes, which I find too intense and also spicy. And where is the turbo peat smoke? [80~83] slight errors or something flat, one-dimensional, doesn't stick in the memory, nice to know :-\
