Surprised! Very pleasant, lightly smoky whiskey. It is very easy to drink, despite the slightly higher strength and young (obviously at this price) alcohols. It breathes a little and starts to smell like vanilla and fruit. Simple, but at the same time nice! At this price I’m ready to drink for any feast

Pretty nice overall, but there is a bitter undertone to the palate and finish. Nose is the best part, as I love that farmy profile.
Characterful but light Islay blend with unique flavors. Pleasant.

Aroma: fresh, a lot of peat smoke, beach and sea breeze, smoked bacon, lemon peel, vanilla. Taste: smoky and malt, vanilla, salty caramels (!), Citrus peels, white pepper. Finish: medium long, smoky and salty (!), With notes of vanilla, pepper, lemons and apples. Very similar to "Elements of Islay Peat & Sherry - Germany Exclusive 58.2%" but there is no sherry like in GER edition.
Notes by producer; PEAT Pure Islay is the companion to PEAT, trading its feisty full strength for a more approachable and easy-sipping 45% ABV. Packed with Islay smoke, it's still a go-to whisky for both cocktails and long drinks, as well as being an excellent dram to sit with long into the night. Created using whiskies from a handful of distilleries from across Islay, PEAT Pure Islay is a well-balanced and easy-drinking everyday whisky to keep all smoky dram fans happy. Cask details; Each batch is made of around 60 casks from distilleries in the north and south of Islay. Tasting Notes; Nose Orange peel and thick cut bacon with sea shells and smouldering coals. Palate Hickory smoke and hints of Lapsang Souchong tea with salted caramel and dark chocolate. Finish Sea spray and baked apple fade, leaving heavy smoke, truffle salt and sweet spice.

Good standard. You can't go wrong with the PLV.

Peaty, smoky with notes of gum, ash, zesty citrics, needless and vanilla. Has elements of gentle and deep barley malt and green fruits and taste and finish. IMHO full proof one tastes stronger.

A simple, dominantly refill bourbon casked blend of peated Islay makes.
This is fine. It’s a peated whisky when you’re looking for one. I don’t like it as much as Big Peat for a whisky that delivers when you just want some peat that isn’t necessarily overbearing. It’s a bit light, but that’s not a knock against it. And it is a touch thin, but again this is situationally desirable. When you want a lighter whisky with some peat, it can be a good choice. When you want Islay go somewhere else.

Good Peaty whisky, but by no means better that the Laphoaig ten or the Ardbeg ten or Wee Beastie. I like it and will gladly pour a dram, but there is considerbly better Islay whisky out there, even in the same price range. Especially when considering this is just a 50CL bottle.

Tasted too young for me, watery and harsh
Interesting, maritime-smoky malt that is easy and pleasant to drink away - very tasty. In the end, however, it lacks a bit of complexity and strength for a higher rating.
