Raasay 08-year-old DeDr Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky - Old Raasay

This single cask Raasay is one of the distillery’s oldest whisky bottlings to date. A particularly pure expression of the spirit, it brings together expressive fermentation character and maturation in a first-fill bourbon barrel, with a little careful reduction delivering a beautifully balanced 52%. Released alongside our Torabhaig and Talisker, it completes an unusual opportunity to explore all three distilleries across Skye and neighbouring Raasay through a single independent bottler. Nose: Thick, waxy, almost spicy, but at the same time with a vivid coastal purity and real sense of fatness and texture - a curious yellow fruitiness underneath as well. Palate: Lusciously thick, vibrant, fat and characterful young Island malt whisky. Rather waxy, mechanical, with hints of sheep wool, olive oil, mead and camphor. Then some wood spice and tiny medicinal notes as well. Finish: Long, fatty, waxy, coastal and well-chiselled.
