Duffzilla is in town. For Whiskyland locals, it's that time of year again. Every year he plods along the distillery trail, merry as you like, lumbering about with his selfie stick. The usual debates and chat about a 'Duffzilla Tax' and 'this is no longer a Whiskyland for the locals!' can be heard fizzing away in the local Whiskyland hostelry. This special single cask of 1991, 34-year-old Dufftown has been specially bottled for Duffzilla Season. Matured full term in a refill bourbon barrel and bottled at natural cask strength, it's precisely the sort of dram that keeps Duffzilla coming back year after year... Nose: Bright and super fresh, subverting expectations about the age. But then abundant honey notes, along with citrus and green fruits, emerge. Luscious and also brimming with a sense of texture. Palate: Old and young simultaneously! Fresh fruits, flower nectars, runny honey, crystallised exotic fruits and hints of cedar and sandalwood. Gorgeous and multilayered old Speyside malt. Finish: Long, with classical waxiness, dried flowers, lemon rind, mineral oil and herbal tea.

Во вкусе описывают разнообразные фруктовые конфеты при высокой сложности, сладкое и маслянистое начало с фруктовостью, лёгкой ноткой микстуры от кашля, виноградными косточками, хорошо интегрированным алкоголем, марципаном и тестом для торта, а также слегка зелёной древесной нотой. Финиш характеризуют как долгий и очень долгий либо фруктово-пряный с ноткой жареного и средней длины. Отдельные отзывы отмечают элегантность, утончённость и мягкость, а также то, что древесные ноты кажутся довольно молодыми для его возраста, и присутствует слегка горьковатая посторонняя нотка, которую называют придиркой. Нос	89	Old attic, dusty, intriguing too. Would not have guest the age correct, but mind I had little time.
Вкус	90	Quite different. loads of types of fruity candy. Though very complex.

Sample tasting. Delicious dram, although the wood notes are quite young considering its age, and there's also a slightly bitter off-note. But that's nitpicking.

Нос	88	A lovely fruitiness, apples and pears, slightly dusty; the malt seems older in the glass. Light grassiness, green twigs, grape seeds, honey, powdered sugar, and spicy notes. On the nose, it reminds me quite a bit of the Glenburgie recently released by Decadent.
Вкус	90	A very pleasant, sweet start, again with lovely fruitiness, quite oily, and a hint of cough syrup. I also detect the grape seeds, and the alcohol is nicely integrated. I find a touch of marzipan and cake batter, as well as a slightly green, woody note. Very tasty.
Финиш	89	Fruity and spicy finish with a hint of roasted notes. Medium length. Really good. 89+
