Ascent of Dram is one of our more unusual experiments, and quite possibly one of the most interesting things we've done. Angus has assembled a rather wonderful collection of malt whiskies. Peated malts, sherry-matured malts, some considerably older stock, and absolutely nothing under 10 years old. All brought together in a refill sherry hogshead. But here's where things get interesting... We're only releasing 100 bottles of this first phase. Once they're gone, Angus will introduce something new to the cask. The whisky will change, evolve, and eventually emerge as Phase Two. Another 100 bottles, another chapter, and a different whisky. And so it continues. Which means this isn't just another limited-edition bottling. It's the beginning of an ongoing experiment, where every release will be different, and once a phase is gone, that particular version of the whisky is gone forever.
