Nose: iodine, sea breeze, icing sugar, plasters, velvety Oloroso sherry notes. Minty freshness, Tiger Balm, ivy cough syrup, moss, smoked meat, roasted nuts, black tea. Round and mature without drifting into extreme woodiness. Palate: roasted and salted cashews, rich broth. Green kitchen herbs. Dark peat smoke, iodine and camphor, cough syrup. Oily mouthfeel, cooling and mentholated finish. Comments: A malt for colder days. Fine balance of maturity and refill sherry cask. I guess this one will be even better with a few years of bottle aging. Also kudos to TWC for the relaxed and laid back label design of these bottlings - No AI boobs or other gimmicky nonsense… 88/100

A Laphi, perfectly drinkable but not particularly outstanding. The peat is quite present in the mouth and finish. No fruitiness, more along the lines of caramel. The finish improves with each sip (a hint of licorice). 71-80 – Fine, like to drink by time

It has an oily viscosity and a highly intense bouquet. I detect aromas of intense, maritime peat smoke, raisin syrup, vanilla, crème brûlée, leather, refreshing mint, campfire smoke, orange peel, and chocolate. Moderately complex. A good balance between sweetness and dryness on the palate. The alcohol is well integrated, and it has a heavy body.
