Honestly, it's a very decent whisky at an excellent price. Intensely fruity with juicy fruit, honeyed, and slightly spicy, it's perfect for a Daily Dram. I think it's worth having on hand so you can pour a dram without having to search for something else.

A solid release for the reasonable price. That's what we would like to see on the shelves, right? The best in this whisky is its nose, on par with the classical releases from the neighbouring distillery(ies). The taste is on the simple side, but it gets better in the finish. The only downside for me is too much bitterness in the taste/finish. But in general it's a success.

Нос	87	very friuty and undoubtedly Campbeltown(ish). Sweet apple, banana, mango, malty sweetness. Evident farmy notes, but not on the level of Springbank 10 for example. Hay, wet leaves, distant farmyard. In terms of intensity it goes close to Hazelburn 10yo, I would say.
Вкус	85	floral honey, nutty, substantial intensity of oak and vanilla. Nice dense texture, but less fruity than in the nose. Green tea, black pepper, tobacco.
Финиш	85	mid-long to long. More Campbeltown style here, citruses and again yellow fruit. Walnuts, herbs, woody.

A very solid bottling. It joins the ranks of bottlings like the Deanston 12-year-old distillery bottling or the Balvenie 10-year-old Bourbon Single Cask. All three offer good quality at a fair price, which is no longer the case with many distilleries. In my opinion, the description "Tropical Fruit & Coastal Spray" fits this Glen Scotia very well. The bourbon cask bottling comes across as very fruity. Well done, Glen Scotia.

It's simply a decent/good bourbon whisky, but giving it 80 or 90 points is extremely incorrect :) Aroma: Chalk paint, vanilla and pineapple... the aroma also reminds me slightly of the air after a storm - there's something about these distillates from Campbeltown that I really like. Palate: Oily for a 46% ABV. We have the barrel – caramel, vanilla, oak notes, and spices. Caramelized canned pineapple, apple pie – not the freshest :)...and maybe mango. The finish is medium-length, slightly warming, with "that hint of Campel." Salt vs. sweet. For me, this could be one of the more interesting "supermarket selections" if it stays at an affordable price. The oiliness disappears in the finish, with a rather strong minerality at the end...

Glen Scotia 12 Year Old, 46%. 1cl sample at The Whisky Show 2025, hence the poor notes. Aroma is almost flavouring - saccharine, trifle, banana bread with coconut shavings and sugar glaze, creamy vanilla, butterscotch. Almost artificial and confectionary. Taste is similar saccharine too sweet for me, very creamy vanilla rich, almost sugary, banana, sweeter than most bourbons - too much for me and I thought this would be a slam dunk. Definitely try before buy. I was convinced I was going to love this – so much so I nearly bought a bottle, but I was glad I tried first. I'll not put in my score because I don't want to bring it down when so many people are enjoying this low cost whisky, but for reference it would be 3.2/77

This expression follows a range of independent cask strengths i have tasted. somehow it has become a bit of a go-to fast because of it’s overall quality and value for money. Tropical yet salty, woody and spicy, mayble slightly bitter towards the end. Very good and affordable dram really

As a 12 year old single malt aged in 1st fill ex-bourbon, it fulfills the brief of letting the spirit shine while pulling in all the desirable traits from the cask influence. For me personally, a few refill casks wouldn’t have hurt, but then I’m happy wading off into the realms of the nakedly austere, and I concede that this would have dampened the approachability a touch. Not that this is a bland, mass-market dram. Far from it. This is a whisky with a gregarious, outgoing persona and just enough quirk. The nose primes you for what to expect and then the rest of the experience delivers with some nice twists to stop it being too predictable. With this bottle, Glen Scotia moves confidently into the heartlands of several other competitively priced, extremely well made, and well-loved 12 year official bottlings from the likes of Bunnahabhain, Tobermory, Deanston, Kilkerran. I paid £45 for mine, which included next day delivery which is fantastic value, excluding the quality of the product. Big shout out to Ian McAlister and the team at the distillery. They should be immensely proud of this.

Spun sugar and lemon cola clamber eagerly out of the glass, followed by honeycomb and more nuanced caramelised tropical fruits: mostly pineapple and cooked lemon, but possibly papaya as well. The cola is quite herbal, incorporating lemon thyme, original ricola and a distant hint of toasted caraway. The darkness also provides cover for spiced ginger cake, buttered wholemeal bread, dark varnished furniture and the funky savoury of Parmesan cheese rind.
Вкус	84	Sweet and spicy approach starting at slick golden syrup, honey and whipped cream, but interrupted by a black pepper blast that masks the transition into a fruitier and more grain heavy landscape of juicy grilled pineapple and glazed breakfast cereals that in turn reveal fresh tangy oregano, mint and tarragon.
Финиш	84	Out of the herbs comes salty and sweet minerals and another moment of juiciness before the dying pepper becomes fried birds eye astringency and melts down further into minty lavender oil. Bittersweet caramel barrel-char picks up towards the end and intermingles with the still-present salty sweet minerals, leaving very dilute cola and nutmeg powder to battle between being mouthwatering and mildly dry.

Нос	88	The first impression is quite surprising. I find tropical fruits, something like pineapple (the one from the can), maybe a little coconut, vanilla, almonds, and a bit of green wood. Plus a little Campletown funk, maybe a bit of machine oil. Really good.
Вкус	86	Here, too, there are slightly exotic fruit notes, a pleasant bitterness, and tart grapefruit. The wood is present but not overpowering. I occasionally detect a touch of rum, with a slightly funky note. A truly excellent result for the price.
Финиш	87	Initially, it has a pleasant bitterness, a bit mineral, even chalky, with the fruit returning again at the very end, so it's not a short finish for me. This is a truly lovely dram at a more than fair price!

Нос	88	The highlight for me, bordering on 89. The sweet and sour components are going into the tropical direction. If I had to pick just one fruit here, it would be pineapple.

Нос	89	A very beautiful and super fruity nose that also delivers on what is promised on the label. Vanilla, canned pineapple, sugared mango, banana chips, ripe kiwi, gentle citrus notes, condensed milk, caramel, marzipan, a hint of coconut, oak spice.
Вкус	87	Again, very fruity, but slightly more bitter than on the nose. There are also lovely spice notes. The body is quite creamy. Vanilla, coconut, banana chips, butter cookies, grapefruit, red grapes, mango, papaya, marzipan, soft apples, young walnuts, oak spice.

A very successful start to the 12-year standard. The aroma is the highlight of this bottling for me. Besides light fruits and a hint of vanilla, I also detect delicate marzipan. Delicious. The taste doesn't have the typical distillery character for me. Nevertheless, it's well-balanced and, together with the captivating aroma, convincing. The finish is pleasantly spicy with a slightly bitter wood note. Overall, finally a nice new standard with a price/performance ratio that is acceptable in the current environment. Let's hope the quality remains at this level.

Финиш	85	It's a medium finish, but it's very smooth for 46%. Mainly the sweet finish like tinned pineapple and honey.

€44. 46%, non-chill filtered, natural color, and what a golden amber from first-fill bourbon barrels. The scent of vanilla, light honey, and tropical fruits hits your nose (in da face ????), enveloped by a hint of the sea. I also detect a hint of marzipan praline somewhere. In the mouth, it has a mouth-coating, oily texture. The palate is carried by creamy vanilla, pineapple, caramelized sugar, a few tangy citrus notes, and a hint of smokiness from toasted barrels. The finish is medium-long, smooth, with a light bitterness of almonds. Overall, compared to the 15, it's more lively and younger in a positive sense, and in my opinion, at this price, it's a hit for anyone who likes classic ex-bourbon maturation.

The nose is exceptionally expressive and complex, though the palate does not quite reach the same heights, occasionally leaning into a tartness that feels slightly disjointed from the sweeter aroma. The tropical nose really is the part that keeps me coming back.

There are whiskies that make you wonder why they're only available now. My introduction to the world of whisky was through 12-year-old whiskies from Glenfiddich and Glenlivet. So how is it possible that a decent 12-year-old won't appear in Glen Scotia's core range until 2025? Never mind – this whisky fulfills many of the criteria I, as a whisky enthusiast, look for in a good whisky: It's 12 years old, bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, and uncolored. Actually, whisky enthusiasts' wishes aren't so extravagant after all. This Glen Scotia bears the title 'Classic Campbeltown Malt', which is fitting, as it was matured in the traditional way in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. It will be available at the end of 2025 for €42. The whisky is unpeated. I find that a shame – but it's certainly the right choice for those new to the Glen Scotia range. glen-efze.de

Tasted from a bottle that has been open since Christmas 2025 (approx. 1 month). Nose: The packaging says "Tropical Fruits and Coastal Seaspray" - and that's exactly what it delivers: a fruit cocktail in a can, where a different aroma comes to the fore with each sniff; occasional pineapple, mango, and honey smothered in vanilla sauce; ripe banana; plus a generous dose of funk; a dingy warehouse at the harbor that brings an absolutely fantastic grit to the malt. After the first sip: Banana, banana, banana! Absolutely brilliant! The nose in this combination is as unusual as it is ingenious! Mouth: FUNK! Tropical fruits with vanilla, plus salted caramel; harbor basin Finish: Sea breeze, vanilla, a pleasant tingling on the tongue and funk; I think I can also taste the banana. Conclusion: A truly magnificent whisky, multifaceted, complex, yet very drinkable. And all this for an amazing price – for me personally, it's a real ray of hope that such a whisky has come onto the market for around €45! Would I buy a bottle? Absolutely!

literally tropical - fruitiness reminiscing light ester jamaican rum (think appleton 8), english wine gums, white haribo bears, dried mango and apricots, tons of mild white oak, hints of licorice candy, pinch of salt, no off notes at all. Just a genuinely great dram at a great price. Fruit, salty ocean, and of course a tonne of vanilla, with a finish that lasts for days, don't let the age fool you, this is a fully matured product owing to the first fill bourbon aging, Also, the colour is natural, no caramel in here impressive enough.

I was excited to see the specs for this release. It ticks a lot of boxes for me: age statement, clear cask information, natural colour and non-chill filtered. And for £45! The nose is certainly not shy. Full on bourbon vanillin hits first, followed by wave after wave of salty sea air. I definitely get the coastal notes promised on the bottle. Not too many signs of the promised tropical fruits, however, although I do get ripe apple and lemon juice. With time in the glass some nutty notes appear, alongside a hint of young oak and a touch of that much-sought-after Campbeltown ‘funk’. A drop of water doesn’t change things too much, but does bring forward more fruity notes at the expense of the vanilla. On the palate the salty notes are to the fore, with salted caramel and sea salt alongside some nice warming pepper and sweet, creamy vanilla. The finish is long, with salty vanilla notes lingering. My first thoughts were that this was good, but nothing special or unique. A bit of time in the glass, and a healthy second pour, put a big smile on my face, however, and I found myself really longing for another sip/pour. I fear that this bottle won’t last long, but at £45 I have no hesitation in ordering another one. Highly recommended if you like first-fill bourbon drams and/or the unique coastal salinity of the Glen Scotia distillate.

A good and unpretentious dram, widely accessible. Properly presented! However, it seems to lack something from start to finish - complexity and depth to me. The taste does not reveal the most pleasant notes from the nose. The finish is one-sided and short for my taste. Would be happy to enjoy it with friends, but I would not buy another bottle for myself.

Нос	84	It opens almost instantly, with the first association being a coastal feeling with sweet, candied lemons. Coconut water, coconut milk, associations in the sweet and white range. Over time, richer and more pleasant fruit notes related to fermentation are discovered.

All in all, extremely tasty. This tropical, fruity nose reminds me of Irish malts. I would have to buy it for that reason alone.

Нос	87	It starts off well right away. Intense fruit notes, sweetness, a hint of wood. Peach, mango, pineapple, banana, green apple with a touch of honey. A wonderful fruit mix with an Irish twist. Hints of caramel and marzipan come through. In the background, grains and a subtle Mon Chéri moment.
Вкус	85	Slightly oily texture, creamy, soft with a good dose of fruit. There's also a slightly tart fruit component. Perhaps lemon or grapefruit. Vanilla, honey, and butter cookies add sweetness. A touch of salt is also included.
Финиш	84	Medium-long finish, subtly bitter, some wood, sweet and fruity to the end, light roasted aromas.

A vibrant aroma of the sea and spices. And something resembling pastry and almond croissant cream. The taste is sharp and hints of tobacco smoke. The aftertaste is almost nonexistent. With water, a bitterness emerges.

The Glen Scotia is a successful and fantastic new bottling in the Glen Scotia core range. The bourbon casks impart a wonderful explosion of tropical fruit. It has a beautiful interplay between wood spice, tropical fruits, and caramel. A very enjoyable single malt. Quality and value are definitely right here.

Нос	85	A wonderfully tropical and fruity nose. Pineapple, mango, papaya, passion fruit, banana, orange, and lemon leap from the glass. Along with plenty of caramel, vanilla, and cinnamon. A gentle sea breeze drifts by in the background.
Вкус	86	It begins with a hint of wood spice. Then comes a touch of ginger heat, cloves, nutmeg, and orange peel. A burst of tropical fruits follows, including lemon, pineapple, papaya, and mango. Next comes the sweetness of caramel, toffee, and vanilla. On the palate, it's incredibly viscous and buttery.
Финиш	84	The initial taste is woody, with slight bitter notes and spices. Then the fruity sweetness emerges. Everything is rounded off with lovely caramel and vanilla notes. The finish is medium-long. A touch of wood spice, ginger, and caramel lingers at the end. A hint of sea salt is noticeable on the lips.

A really delicious whisky, especially in that price range. Essentially a poor man's Old Pulteney 17yo. Even approaching 87p.

Нос	86	To be honest, there isn't that much tropical fruit in it (well, there is after some time and exposure to air in the bottle!). In any case, it has a very nice citrus flavor and a saline coastal character.
Вкус	87	It tastes older and more rounded than its 12 years would suggest. Hints of wood smoke and freshly opened tobacco give it a certain depth towards the finish. Very well done.
Финиш	86	A pleasant Campbeltown funk, mixed with the fruity oiliness, nicely rounds off the delicious taste experience.

A fruity, sweet and sour sea breezed dram. On the nose tropical fruits, honey. Tasting sour notes, Green bananas and apples with tropical salty fruits, papayas, pineapples with vanilla and salted caramels, more distillate character, sweetness, barley sugar and texture. The bitter notes are more pronounced in finish. For the price it’s good value, however the sour notes are a bit off putting. Nose * Slight musty dunnage warehouse note * Orchard fruits * Honey * Coastal freshness Palate * Salted caramel * Oily malt texture * Peach and green apple * Coastal salinity * Pepper spice * Light industrial funk * Faint smoke Finish * Slightly salty * Peppery * Drying Overall A refreshing, characterful summer dram with coastal Campbeltown personality. More engaging and textured a fete a months open, though slightly rough around the edges. Improved noticeably after bottle oxidation.

Нос	84	Glazed pineapple and tropical fruit, brine, prickle of ethanol behind. Strong ex-bourbon notes.
Вкус	85	A touch aggressive, youthful. Light and hot with a little oil. Sweet with a touch of pine-y bitterness. Hints of those tropical fruits- coconut, pineapple, all fermented. Brine and a shot of industrial funk, alongside a hit of ethanol.
Финиш	85	Medium, oaky, warm, sweet. That oily funk persists for a bit, but teases- I wish there were more.
