Decadent Drams Ben Nevis 27 years old

"Distilled in 1998 and matured for 27 years in a single refill barrel, this is a wonderfully pure, unadorned expression of Ben Nevis. Waxes, fruits and oils abound, with the distillery’s immense character given plenty of room to shine. Bottled at a naturally gentle cask strength, it combines impressive concentration with elegance and an almost indecent ease of drinking." Nose: Waxed lemons, mineral oil, olive oil, white stone fruits, chamois leather, waxed hessian and subtle peppery hints of watercress and aniseed. Vivid, distillate-driven and pure old-school Ben Nevis. Palate: The softer ABV makes this extremely easy to quaff. Great oily and waxy texture in the mouth, lots of white flowers, stone fruits, mineral notes, faint glints of heather honey and motor oil in the background, with sheep wool and light herbal notes too. Finish: Medium length, but glowing with waxes, oils and gentle white and citrus fruit notes.
