Decadent Drams Inchgower 17 years old

Another addition to our ongoing Megaflora & Megafauna mini-series, this 17-year-old Inchgower was distilled in 2009 and spent most of its life in a refill barrel. We then finished it for just over a year in a first-fill bourbon barrel, adding a touch of richness and creamy sweetness while keeping the lovely underlying distillate firmly in focus. Bottled with a little considered reduction at our frequently favoured strength of 53%. Nose: A lovely mix of creamy vanilla notes, sandalwood, gentle background waxes and green and yellow fruits. Very natural and classical in presentation! Palate: Cream soda, lemon jelly, caramelised oatmeal, cedar wood, dried apple rings and hints of cinnamon breakfast cereals Finish: Medium, slightly earthy, peppery and lightly drying, with some lovely muesli, honey and dried fruit notes.
