Нос	90	Very well done. It's not incredibly complex, but it's so well executed! Lots of fruit: lemon, pear, fresh apple, grapefruit. Malt and, of course, peat… and very fine peat at that. A mixture of ash and sea (shells, smoked fish, iodine).
Вкус	91	A smooth attack with a huge build-up of power all the way down the mouth. The fruit aromas are present, and the peat takes center stage like the main character. The progression is magnificent! It's round, it's straight, it's harmonious, elegant, you can't taste the alcohol.
Финиш	88	Medium-long on citrus notes, and of course on peat which is splendid

Nose: ripe yellow fruits, mirabelle plum, juicy pear, yellow plums, honey, campfire, a little ash, a trace of vanilla, great interaction of sweetness and smoke, after some time mandarin and lychee. Palate: Sharp entry, white pepper, ash, minerality, melon, a touch of burnt bread, citrus notes, lime, lemon biscuit, shortcrust pastry. But with oxidation in the bottle, the palate becomes smooth and delicate. Finish: dry and long citrus notes. I vote for Ardbeg for its subtlety and complexity. However, I was blown away by the tasting last night of the Port Askaig 17 year old, which is simply enormous in terms of finesse, complexity and richness. Made in Caol Ila. Drink it again and again; the lower the level in the bottle, the purer this Ardbeg nectar becomes, embodying the distillate I know. Superb. 90/100

Нос	91	The nose is delicate vanilla-sweet with some fruity and tarry-medicinal aromas. Nicely complex and balanced
Вкус	90	The taste is very impressive both barley sweet and peaty-medicinal, all the flavours are very powerful. This is a dram to chew for a while and explore the facets in detail.
Финиш	90	Initial mouthfeel is warming with a fine creamy texture which coats the mouth nicely. The finish is long with an interesting liquorice flavor. Water is not needed. Nice dram that is hard to resist Absolutely excellent

A fine tuned and more mature version of Ardbeg Corryvreckan to me! A little bit less smoky and spicy, but on the other hand more fruity with more vanilla. Perfectly balanced out. Overall, I like it a lot! The price of 175 Euro is pretty OK in my humble opinion - considering the quality! This independent bottling is much much better than the garbage (excuse my French here) Ardbeg is putting out last 5 years as their "special" releases. Those are motivated by one and one thing only, and that is called GREEDINESS. No quality to be found there, and no amount of their marketing can counter that simple and very sad fact!

Нос	90	Unmistakably, Ardbeg peat! However, accompanied by vanilla, honey, caramelized sugar, hint of lemon juice, citrus peel, and some generic yellow fruits (I would go with apples here).
Вкус	91	There is absolutely nothing to complain about here! What a beautiful thing this is! A textbook example of an Ardbeg from an ex-bourbon cask. Offers so much more then the overly too aggressive Ardbeg 10. I was even contemplating a 92 here, seriously... Complex, balanced, no off notes, viscous, good mouthfeel.
Финиш	91	More on the fruity and sweet-vanilla than on the peaty side. Medium to long, very pleasant. I am impressed!

Нос	87	Starts with big dash of lemon, followed by many burnt leather, iodine, ashtray, with hints of chrysenthenum, mints, honey, sandalwood and grain-driven ethanol. The fermented acidity deduce 1 points. Following nosing was dominated by burnt leather and hay.
Вкус	88	Medium to robust body with a good oily texture. Big Sugary sweetness soon follwed by vivid zestiness, very juicy and tangy, returning to the crystal clear sweetness. Mild kick of numbness, many ashes, lemon juice, orange candy. Leathery, citrusy, not without burnt tires and horse stable. Ended with medicinal bitterness supplemented by sugary sweetness
Финиш	87	Not much different from the palate. Zestiness remain, fresh and vibrant, accompanied by long and profound peat smoke. Modern peat soapiness, mild numbness, smoked husk, hay in barns, and not to forget the umami from malted barley and smoked cheese.

A classic Ardbeg in Bourbon cask, quiet well done, fresh, punchy, ashes, some fruits, oily, vanilla. It clearly lacks complexity, but for this age, maybe we can't expect more. Simple pleasure

I tried this with a 2022 Ardbeg 10yo OB (84 pts.) and they certainly share so many same characteristics I would be surprised if this was anything else. The style of this bottling is close to what you could find in 2010s Lagavulin 12yo OBs: an oily, thick yet minimal and straightforward distillate-heavy palate with no strong wood or wine notes.

Нос	89	Smoky, lemon, fish with lemon, maritime, seaweed, coastal spray, a little vanilla.
Вкус	89	Strong, ash-like, maritime, lemony, nicely sweet, with a lot of ash at the end. Very good!
Финиш	88	Spicy, maritime, smoky, smoke coats the mouth, yet maritime impressions remain. Really good for more contemporary Ardbegs.

tasted blind. Pretty quickly all but Ardbeg, Laga and Kilcho (as underdogs) ruled out. Beautiful, elegant peat, plenty of light fruit and some hay, seemed 3-4 years older than it is. The price is not without it, but if it had said A... it would definitely not have been cheaper.

A very nice fruity, bubblegum-like malt. Imho an Ardbeg. The alcohol is perfectly integrated. Sweetness, fruitiness and smoke are well balanced.

I don't care if it is an Ardbeg or not. If so - kudos to EVWC for the bottling at this price. Very clean Islay bourbon matured whisky at its best. Maritime, mineral and distinguished. Far away from right into your face slapping Islay Malts. Lots of vanilla & lemon, smoke is there but somehow not dominating in a nice way. Chalk, pebbles, white pepper. Very balanced stuff tastes older than 13. The ABV is just perfect. Amplifies the flavors without being in the way. Mellow fruity Islay bottling with a creamy mouthfeel. To be paired with salted peanuts or cashews. Way better- (less wilder) than a Corry or any recent A'day release. Is it worth the price? Well that depends on your budget. I'm satisfied.
